Tiny Dancer (again)

Last year I compiled all the footage of our Peach dancing into a little montage of our two year old dancer (you can watch it here)

This year I did the same.

(although, unfortunately, I lost 4 months of the footage *sobs*).

Words really cannot encompass how proud and honoured I am to be Priya’s mother. I am moved to joy when I watch her, especially when she dances. I experience a humbling awe at the fact that she is ours. I have written before about how dance ignites her passion and it’s evident in this video. We hope you can enjoy some of her contagious happiness too.

Here is her three year old dancing video:

(you should watch it in HD if you can).

I will hopefully be back in a year to share her four year old version ;)

Haha, that’ll be a bit of a wait ;) I am glad you thought it was up to par. I have been trying not to think about how much better it would have been with all the footage I lost. Woe. It was some of her best dancing ever! *Lalalala, don’t think about it!*

Pure unadulterated joy. My cheeks hurt after watching that. May she never lose the ability to dance wherever and whenever she wants.

Gosh, how I wish I had the talent, patience and foresight to document these kinds of moments with my little one and put the pieces together as you have. What a wonderful momento for your precious (and exceptionally talented) young lady. They grow so quickly and you have created something very special to look back on and enjoy again and again.

She is so adorable. I love it! My favourite footage is at the beach , she looks so incredibly happy and the light is stunning. So beautiful. She is going to love watching this when she’s older! Not that you want to think about your babies getting older :)

I wish there were dance classes around Brisbane that were all about moves like this! Seems to be all about ballet. I had to give it up as my daughter found it too boring and wanted to let loose like this. I did read somewhere about Peach doing Bollywood classes so maybe we should try something like that :)

Yes, Priya takes bollywood classes which are much more fun. I really think that for dancing like this you just need music and space. I always turn up the music and dance with her. I think the classes are great to teach her some technique but honestly, at this age – dancing should just be fun!

What a fantastic wee sweetheart! I especially love the dancing amongst the clothing racks. You’ve probably got it down somewhere, but what sort of camera do you use to take your film footage? I love looking back on all my Dad’s home videos, and would love to have some of my own when we expand our family next year. All I use that the moment is my DSLR!

Lily, I shoot on a combination of my Canon 5d mk ii and my Panasonic Lumix GF1 (which is great for film and super small and compact). Thanks for your lovely comment and I hope that helps you x

I was so excited to discover this today! I missed it when posted cuz I was off-line for a month with wrist woes. I’ve been looking forward to it since I wrote about Priya’s 2 yr dance video in my blog last year (link for those interested: http://poledancingprofessor.com/2011/12/dance-to-ignite-your-soul/) & again after I wrote about how I admired Priya (just after she turned 4) & Anna Halprin (who’s 92) for a guest post about discovering Golden Shadow (http://jenniferlshelton.com/2012/07/02/youre-golden-and-you-dont-even-know-it/)

I love how this video illustrates how we are meant to dance, shake, twirl, wiggle, celebrate and show off our beautiful bodies! Thank you for sharing Georgia. with exuberant joy, Lisa
